Three members of the U.S. gymnastics team that dominated the 2019 World Championships will compete at this weekend's American Classic in Indianapolis, including floor exercise silver and uneven bars bronze medallist Sunisa Lee.

Grace McCalllum and Kara Eaker, both of whom also helped Team USA to World Championships gold in 2018, have registered for the 2021 event too.

The competition is scheduled for 24 April at 2:15 pm ET in Indianapolis.

For Lee, this is her second event of the 2021 season after competing at the Winter Cup in late February. At Winter Cup, she debuted a new high-flying routine and took the uneven bars title with a massive 15.050 score. Lee also finished third on balance beam at Winter Cup, but dismounted with just a layout due to a lingering ankle injury.

Lee, who finished second to Simone Biles at the 2019 U.S. Championships, said that ankle injury had prevented her from training on floor exercise and vault fully.

"I'm doing tumble track and trampoline, just working on air awareness where I don't forget that because I haven't done floor and vault in a little bit," Lee said 27 February. "I don't think it's going to be that difficult for me to get back, especially because I've been getting a lot stronger in the gym, so my legs will be refreshed when I come back."

The American Classic will, however, be the first meet since October 2019 and the Worlds for McCallum. Eaker competed in a competition hosted by her gym in February.

Other notables registered for the event include 2019 American Cup champion Leanne Wong, 2020 American Cup silver medallist Kayla DiCello, and Skye Blakely, who won beam at the Winter Cup.
